Well...we are now proud new owners of a new place in Morgan Mill! Royce and I signed our life away...oh I mean...signed papers today!
Morgan Mill is great for a couple of reasons. 1. It's closer to our families. 2. It's a great little country community and 3. We now have a place of our own! No one to deal with, nobody to piss us off, nobody taking over!! IT'S OURS and we are so excited! It's going to take a little work...but I think it has great potential! Royce will be doing things outside (rebuilding fences, fixing up the arena, building a front gate and getting the barn ready for the horses), while I will be remodeling the house (and that is a work in itself!).
So when you swing through there (because I know at some point in most everyone's life you will!) come on by! I'm sure Diesel will LOVE the company! (oh and so will we) =)

Diesel turns 2!!!

My little....uh....huge Diesel has finally turned 2! I can't believe it! Seems like yesterday I got him as the cutest, little, adorable pup. Now he's 2 and still as goofy as ever! From him and Royce chasing each other around and 'round the cofee table to him wanting the horses and cows to chase him (apparently it's not any fun to chase them...he wants them to chase him!)
He is GREAT for entertainment though! A guy (and truck) that Diesel had never seen before came to deliver hay the other day. I'm watching from inside and Diesel starts to do "the mean bark". He sits back...and waits...until the truck gets closer to the house and he takes off toward it. (now usually he just wants to see what everything is all about, so I highly doubt he would have done anything....but I sure wouldn't want a 150 pound dog charging at me either). That guy couldn't roll up his window fast enough...he was sure gettin' it! (I bet he wishes he would have had automatic windows about then!! haha...it was soo funny on my end!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DIESEL!

Our VERY near fire experience

Well...let me tell you how our spring break started out. Friday around 3:30 the secretary at my school paged me over the intercom telling me if I was in the building, to come to the office IMEDIATELY. I run up there and our neighbor was on the phone telling me that our place is on fire, they can't get it under control, and that I needed to get home ASAP. I dart out of there trying desperately to get a hold of Royce (he was working in Morgan Mill and had his phone in the truck). I called Jim (his dad....I'm still pissed off that he NEVER once called Royce or I) asking him what's going on...He tells me "that the fire dept just told him they needed to evacuate right now"...I was sooo worried about my dogs that I asked him to please go get them out of the house before he leaves. (he agreed to...but who knows if he really would have). Finally I get ahold of my brother-in-law who was working with Royce to tell him to get home. It was the LONGEST drive home of my life. When I pulled out on the interstate from Weatherford I could see the smoke (and thats at least 30 minutes away)
Well...we are still standing....but that was the closest to scared out of my mind than I have ever been. When I finally got here the smoke was so bad I couldnt even see the front door of my house. The first thing that we did was Royce got on the tractor and plowed a circle around our house. Then he tells me to go inside and get everything you want out. (well I just walk in and bust into tears...where do I start?...we just got married...I WANT everything). I got ALL our pictures and guns and most of our clothes. Royce got our horses and had them taken down to Morgan Mill because of all the smoke. If needed, we had plenty of trailers people broght out to load the furniture last minute. It managed to go right behind us...it was soo crazy and scary all at the same time. YIKES! It was amazing the amount of help that was here. There were atleast 15 fire trucks, 10 or so forest fire tanker trucks and 3 helicopters that flew over to drop water......it was BIG. It's still of course smoldering...and everything I own including myself reeks of smoke...but we are THANKFUL thats for sure! So that's how my SPRING BREAK started!
